Info And Event Centre Facilities

The Information Centre is available for Young People to access information about Youth Services, Training Providers, Education, Sports Clubs and Activities in Christchurch.

The operating hours are between the hours of 9.00pm to 4pm Monday to Friday. The centre provides a safe place for young people to engage with a Youth Worker and establish an understanding of services available at YCD and other agencies that best meet their needs. There is information to support parents when dealing with challenging issues while attempting to support Young People in a Whanau setting.

With the increasing unemployment is coming the frustration of nothing to do and this is an opportunity to look at available courses to engage in to improve your opportunities.

There is a wide range of information for Young People, access to the internet Job sites, hot drinks, Fuse Ball, Pool Table, Table Tennis Table with challenges available and all at no cost. At minimal cost we also have some old school Fighter 2 Video Games.

Staff can also provide information about available services to Young People when dealing with School issues, Employment and Government agencies.

YCD advocates on behalf of the Young Person when dealing with difficult issues and will inform them of their rights and responsibilities.
